Cultural appropriations aside (looking at you Indian costumes!) there are plenty of things you could go as to an “I” themed party, even if you can’t think of them yet.

In Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of a master craftsman who attempted to escape from Crete with wings that his father had created from feathers and wax. Unfortunately, the story is infamous because Icarus flew too close to the sun and fell to his death.
It’s not the most successful of stories, but if you still have that Greek God costume from that “G” themed party you went to earlier in the year than this is a great way to reuse it with more of an “I” themed focus. All you need to do is dress like a Greek God and just add wings. Easy!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Being an ice cream is sure to be a sweet treat for an “I” themed party, and is surprisingly easy to do. Follow the Studio DIY tutorial and wear a tan skirt with a white sprinkle covered t-shirt on top, topped with a cherry headband. If you search you can find a waffle print skirt to give a more authentic look to your cone, or turn your ice cream upside down and wear a white dress with safety pinned cardboard sprinkles and a cone hat. Easy, and delicious!

Mr and Mrs Incredible
Mr and Mrs Incredible make for a great couples costume for an “I” themed party, and because they are so specific you can pick up the matching set from most costume stores. Make sure you have matching black gloves, masks and boots, and wear a wig to capture the essence of Disney Pixar’s crime fighting duo to the max!
If you’re keen for a costume the whole family can enjoy, you could rope your kids into playing Violet and Dash as well.

There has to be a reason why every character Harrison Ford has ever played has turned into an iconic costume for Halloween and themed parties – maybe it’s just because Harrison Ford is the bomb?
Well, there is nothing cooler than hitting a themed costume party dressed as Mr. Archaeologist himself Indiana Jones. As long as you have a Fedora, a tan (faux) leather jacket and a whip, you’ll be stealing hearts all across the party.

Inflatable Wacky Waving Arm Tubed Man
I love these guys – inflatable stars that dance outside of car lots selling a good old fashioned party. Have you ever seen Dee from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia dance like one? It’s brilliant! Get yourself a DIY costume and do the dance and you will be the hit of the party.
All you need to work this outfit is to score yourself one of those small tunnels that are perfect for children or pets to crawl through. Cover it in colourful material of bright yellow or green if it isn’t colourful already and sew arms of the same colour to the side. Bonus points if your tunnel happens to have a hood as well that you can add blinky eyes to!

It wouldn’t be an “I” themed party list without the obligatory mention of Iron Man. Made popular in the Marvel Universe movies starring Robert Downey Jr. it is now possible to score yourself an Iron Man costume at any costume shop online. You can even get children’s, women’s and sexy versions too if you’re feeling so daring.
