It’s that time of the year again where you pull out all the creative stops to create delicious gingerbread men who are decorated to the nines! But if you do the same thing year after year with your gingerbread houses and your gingerbread men, perhaps it’s time to so something a little bit different. Here are 5 ways you can incorporate gingerbread into your Christmas celebrations:

Gingerbread Cookie Wreath
You may have seen in previous years I made a gingerbread cookie wreath. This year you can definitely do something similar but make the wreath out of gingerbread as well (I made it out of cardboard before!) and use icing to hold all the pieces together and hang it above your door. Delicious and decorative!

Gingerbread House Centerpiece
If you’ve spent all your time making a beautiful gingerbread house fit for a witch to live in, you should definitely put that on display! Craft yourself a setting to put in the middle of the table and have all of your guests admire your handiwork throughout the Christmas feast!

Gingerbread Man Cookie Garland
Not very good at decorating? Keep it simple by baking plain gingerbread men and cutting a hole in the middle of the cookies. Thread some Christmas ribbon through the middle and put your cookies in a line to hang above the Christmas table, near the Christmas tree or as a garland above the fireplace (making sure they aren’t going to get extra toasty if you do though!).

Go Beyond a Gingerbread Man and Have Gingerbread Animals!
This might not be a new way to use Gingerbread because essentially you are still just making gingerbread cookies, but these are so cute that I couldn’t possibly go pass them! Show off your decorating skills by using woodland animal and forestry cookie cutters to give your gingerbread a different look and feel this Christmas – they would also be perfect for a woodland themed baby shower too! So cute!

Gingerbread Christmas Tree Ornaments
Want something a little different to regular Christmas tree baubles? People put edible decorations on their Christmas tree all the time with popcorn strings and wrapped candy canes, so gingerbread men are no different!
Make your gingerbread ornament as you would normally and put a small hole in the top. Thread a ribbon through the top, tie it accordingly and hang on your Christmas tree for perfection!
