Choosing the basic elements for your wedding is hard enough, especially when you have a big imagination and have been dreaming about your wedding day since you were old enough to know what a wedding was. Deciding on colour themes, wedding dresses and general tone of the day are big jobs, so choosing bridesmaid dresses might be a little harder to decide if your focused on other aspects. I’ve put together a quick board of inspiration to help you and your gal pals standing next to you on your big day find what you’re looking for.
Sleek and Contemporary
Going for a sophisticated and contemporary feel for your ultimate wedding day? Then opt for long, sleek bridesmaid’s dresses for your girls. A bold, straight lined style or column dress will look excellent if you are going for clean lines and modern settings, and the simple yet modern style will match your wedding dress if you want to go with a less frothy number. These style of dresses look excellent in clean silks or satin, with minimal embellishments and plain and solid colours.

Bohemian and Free-Flowing
Bohemian style bridesmaid dresses are perfect if you are planning on a more rustic, vintage or “hipster” style outdoor wedding with tons of flowers and natural embellishments. Generally long and flowing with crocheted, sequinned or added aspects, these cute dresses look great next to a more flowing wedding dress and work perfectly with mermaid waves and headpieces. However, you can get similar style dresses with midriffs, shorter cuts and different material, so you can be sure to find something to suit every style of wedding – just think of free-flowing forms and more earthy colours such as browns, creams and champagne colours, and even more prominent tones such as dusty oranges and reds.

Cute and Cocktail
Cocktail style dresses are probably the most versatile when it comes to bridesmaids dresses because of the generally more casual cut of the bust, length of the dress (around knee-length) and style available. These dresses look good and are available in a majority of different colours, so you will be able to find something to suite your wedding theme, as well as a heap of different materials as well. So whether you are after a floral printed sweetheart dress for your 1950’s style wedding, a plethora of cute champagne dresses for a more ritzy, yet still casual function, or a mis-matched vineyard wedding, you can be sure to find something to suite everyone with a cocktail dress.

Now of course, bridesmaid dresses come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colours and material, and these are just to provide you with the inspiration you need to put it all together. You can break all the rules, or follow traditional styles but in the end it’s your day and whatever you want goes!
