5 Ways To Use Bunting

I’m obsessed with bunting. I’m obsessed with looking at them, I’m obsessed with the different colours and styles you can get and I am obsessed with the idea of using them at parties. To me, nothing says “party” more than the use of bunting and my obsession has no doubt been sparked as weird. When I went to Cambodia I COULD. NOT. GO. PAST the idea of 3D bunting and simply HAD to buy it then and there. I was so obsessed with my sister in-law making her own bunting that she ended up making one just for me and I was the happiest I had ever been.

If you’re like me, and think that the bunting makes the party, here are five awesome ways you can use this wonderful decoration at your next party.

 Kite Bunting

As A Background

This is the most classic way to use bunting, and with the fact that they come in all different shapes, sizes, colours and styles means that you will never have a boring background for your party again! Hanging these magical strings above your dessert table means that you don’t need to hunt around for a life size background, and can also be used as the background for your open air photo booth. You can really let your imagination run wild with this!

As A Dessert Table Decoration

Similar to using a string of bunting as a background decoration, if you have a background already in mind you can hang the bunting over the front of your dessert table rather than at the back. It gives a little bit more of a separate element to the rest of your dessert table, and looks super cute with a particular message splayed out on the bunting flags. It’s simple, and very effective.

As A Cake Topper

Looking for a cake topper with a little more whimsy? Try bunting themed cake toppers! All you need is to write your message on the small flags, tie them to string attached to two skewers and insert into the cake. Voila! An adorable mini bunting stand that would look excellent displayed on your next birthday cake!

Label for your gifts

As A Label For Your Favours

This is a great idea to incorporate bunting into your Christmas gifts or your take home favours for your guests. Wrap the gift in a simply packaged wrapping paper, and create your message or the name of your guest on card bunting that you can hole punch and fasten together with string and wrap around the gift. It makes for a super cute and super personalised way to tell someone just how much you mean to them.

As Stationary Decorations

This is similar to the label you would put on your gifts, but without the message. The idea works perfectly for a save the date or a wedding invitation which has information already presented on it. You can purchase or make your own adorable themed bunting and hot glue gun it to the invitation. This works especially well if you are going for a whimsical garden party theme for your event and the invitation is on a brown paper card.

So there you have it, 5 ways to incorporate the use of bunting into your next whimsical soiree. If you decide to use any of these ideas, or are just hosting a bunting themed party, I would love to see what unique ways you have come up with!
