Moroccan Themed Event

Everybody loves a themed event that takes on the element of a new and exciting culture. Having yourself a Moroccan themed event (bridal shower, wedding, engagement party, anything!) is a bright, colourful, exciting and mulitcultural way to ring in a celebration. You can use a variety of different aspects of the culture by having traditional dances (and hiring professional belly dancers as the entertainment) and music, as well as serving spicy and yummy foods from that district. Here is a way you can transform your event’s theme into a Moroccan masterpiece!

The thing about a Moroccan celebration is that it is bright and colourful. Use two bright colours together like what has been done here and use a variety of materials in these colours to go along with the Moroccan style, such as tulle and silk. Use orange and pink drapes above your function to create a tent like feel, and use the same colours as table covers and table runners.

A great idea is to add a touch of modern day class to your decor and hang chandeliers from the ceiling, but bring in the colours of your theme in the form acrylic strands hanging off the chandeliers. Add some beautiful flowers as centre pieces and you have a gorgeous colour theme used in every aspect of your decorations!

A great piece of Moroccan decor that you can utilize in your event (especially when watching the entertainment!) is by putting a large variety of Mediterranean style rugs on the floor (overlapping each other if possible) and pile many different coloured pillows on the floor for guests to sit on. Don’t forget to put Arabian style lanterns with tea light candles all around to give it that relaxing Arabian nights feeling.

Don’t forget to serve cakes, macaroons and other such delicious snacks in the same bright colour theme! If you have any other ideas for a Moroccan themed event, let me know at
