A Golden Peacock Christmas!

It sounds extravagant I know! You all that know me know that I do love my peacocks (and flamingos and owls!) so when I discovered this amazing styled Christmas party on Hostess with the Mostess I simply had to share it with you!

The idea is to make the style of the event glam retro with the golden highlights, but to make it modern and festive and fun with the peacock influence. It’s a great way to play with the traditional red and green colours of Christmas by focusing more on the green in a shade suitable for a peacock. Here are some great ideas to turn your Christmas into a very elegant one!

Full Buffet

I love this image of a full candy bar! Set on a white wooden table you can simply make the table drip in gold by using a fun variety of decorations such as gold stockings, a gold leaf print as a back drop or gold charger plates. Infuse the gold with a basic colour like white so that the golden era colour scheme and peacock centre pieces will be what sticks out the most in your peacock party (so use white plates, white cupcake stands, white table cloth etc.).

Use a stuffed peacock as a focal point for your decorations and lay some peacock feathers out on the table or host them in a tall glass vase. Use peacock printed tags as the candy buffet labels to make the theme obvious.

Now, all of this may not be very Christmasy (except maybe the gold stockings) so I love this idea of incorporating the Christmas element into a centre piece. You can get a gold ornate bird cage (the one above looks very three wise menish!) and hang some darker coloured Christmas baubles in the centre. Lay out some cute jam Christmas cookies around the bird cage and you have an instant decoration and food stand that incorporates everything to do with the Golden Peacock Christmas theme you’re going for!

Also, set up a Christmas tree in either a gold or white colour and get yourself some Christmas baubles or decorations that are the same colour or pattern of a peacock to hang on the tree. It will look gorgeous!

Don’t forget to serve food appropriate for your event. Golden sparkling champagne and juice are great drinks to serve at a Golden Christmas, and you can even print a chocolate label with a peacock feather pattern on it to give out to all your guests as a favor. It’s a great way to say thanks for coming!
